Coffea Arabica is generally thought to produce better coffee than the other major commercially grown coffee species such as Coffea Canephora (robusta), Coffea Liberica and Coffea Excelsa.
 Arabica contains less caffeine than any other commercially cultivated species of coffee. It is usually cultivated at higher elevations and prefers to be grown in light shade. The Arabica has a level of caffeine going from 1.1% to 1.7% and depending on whether the roasting is light or dark the latter will lessen the caffeine.
The culture of coffee has its maximum expression in the preparation of blends. By artfully mixing the coffees’ origins, qualities and characteristics are blended, integrated and complimented, thereby obtaining a final product with a more complex yet balanced taste, and a more harmonious and satisfying aroma. Seasoned companies take many years to establish new blends, while less experienced roasters merely combine coffees with exotic names at random, as if something special can be created by chance. Few can rival the expertise of a seasoned Italian roast master, and because Italy has such a high volume of roasting done yearly, Italian roast masters have easy access to an infinite variety of beans from all over the world. This advantage allows for well calculated, creative and unique blends, resulting in taste profiles rarely matched.
Pure Arabica espresso blends will have that familiar acidic "tingle" which is it's taste profile signature. We import for you to try, two choices, which are both premium blends. The Dock is a more typical "Trieste" blend, heavier taste, more guttural yet smooth, and the Easy Caffe is the upper-end Northern Italy, delicate flavor medium roast. If you are looking for high end Arabicas, you will not be disappointed.
